Gua Sha has been used for thousands of years to heal many different types of ailments. It is a gentle technique that can relieve stress and pain and promote healing.

Porcelain soup spoons work well as a tool for applying Gua Sha. You can find these in Asian grocery stores. You can also use smooth-edged metal jar lids for applying Gua Sha. When applying Gua Sha, you can use coconut oil, jojoba oil, sunflower oil, olive oil as well as other natural oils.

Always start with light pressure and gradually increase it to the receiver’s tolerance. The red spots that come to the surface as you stroke the skin are called Petechiae. Petechiae appears if there is stuck energy.

Gua Sha is useful in treating a variety of ailments including cold/flu, pulled muscles, neck, shoulder, or back pain, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, cough, migraines, stress, poison ivy, and allergies to name a few.

Note: As with any alternative therapy, consult with your doctor before using Gua Sha if you have any serious disease, medical problem, or injury.
