Medical Massage

Medical massage is the overall covering description and can include all or just one of the modalities. It can be medical condition based massage techniques for known tissue problems or a detective process to find an original cause, working backwards to relieve each condition and finding what remains unresolved.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral is a specific routine, to which I can add some techniques for releasing fascial structure within the skull, which may have become tight through head trauma or whiplash as in a motor vehicle accident.

Visceral Manipulation

Visceral manipulation is work on the internal organs and any dysfunctional fascial connections between them or with the skeletal structure.

Myofascial Release

Fascial work is the releasing of scar tissue, no matter how old, including surgical scars, removing adhesions, and releasing connections made from overuse, extended use or acute exceeding of muscular activity, or sudden force to which the body fascia naturally tightens, the softening of which may not be soon enough.

Nerve work

Nerve Work is my term for the techniques taught by Doug Alexander LMT who specializes in relieving Nerve problems. They include assessments, releases, glides, pumping, flossing and regular massage techniques to soften and remove constrictions and adhesions that affect the nerve path. One restriction anywhere along the nerve path can cause irritation, a second restriction multiplies the problems, often sensed further along the nerve path, e.g. carpal tunnel pain, yet the cause or causes can be at any of the pinch points before that. Motivated by my own Sciatic events, I know what to do to keep it at bay, and remove the common condition of Carpal tunnel syndrome. The techniques apply to all trapped nerve conditions, hitting the textbooks when necessary to find the Nerve path and likely pinch points.

Energy Work

Energy work can be chakra balancing or a host of other actions developing from ‘listening’ to the tissues and experiencing within myself your discomforts and finding out how to release them.
