What is energy work? Practitioners of energy work claim there is a subtle human energy field which they can detect with their hands. By placing their hands on or over their subject, they are able to correct imbalances and unblock blocked energy. Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Chakra Balancing, and Polarity Therapy are all various forms of energy work. Proving it has been difficult. However the personal experience of someone practicing or receiving energy work is very real to them. The explanation is something else.
I started reading palms as a teenager, and was unexpectedly good at it, later finding out that I was picking up the feelings and sensations of those I was touching, these feelings guided my responses, leading to a better reading. Getting trained as a massage therapist, this capability enhanced my work. I learned Chakra Balancing, and then discovered I could get sensation of the organ system of each Chinese Meridian.
Touching traumatized tissue, no matter how long ago it had happened, the tissue would ‘speak’ to me, often that same tissue knew exactly how to relieve the pain, especially when the ‘owner’ had blocked off that body part.
On one client I accidently picked up her ‘mind chatter’, removing my hand immediately on realizing. Figuring out why it happened led to discovering how to find any memory, buried or not, helping clients to fill in the gaps during trauma.
Problems that persisted sometimes resolved after a trip to a ‘past life’. Combining energy work with knowledge of anatomy and training in medical massage therapy may produce results not possible in a regular massage.
